A contact is not only
an address.
In the same record, besides the address, there are a phone number, an email, sometimes a website and always a name. We check them with the same method we use on addresses: we don't discard the wrong row, we flag what is wrong and, when possible, propose the correct form.

Four checks, one method
They work the same way however you use them: the check from the website, the uploaded file and the API call give the same outcome, in the same words.
Phone
Without calling anyone: we recognise whether it is a mobile, a landline, a special or a foreign number, check the length, derive the city of the landline and the operator the mobile was activated with. If a single field holds two numbers (“347… - 02…”) we split them. We return the number in the form you need, national or international.
We check that the form is valid and that the domain exists and can receive mail. The most common typos we recognise and propose the correction: you recover that contact instead of losing it. We also flag disposable mailboxes and office ones (info@, accounts@), valid but not belonging to a person.
Website
Does the site still respond? We check that the name exists, follow any redirects to the final page and check the security certificate. We tell you the final address, the right one to save in your records, and what went wrong when the site doesn't respond.
Name enrichment
We tell a person from an organisation and recover the title from wherever it ended up: in old databases “Dott.ssa” almost always sits inside the surname field, and from there spoils the letter's heading. Separated, it becomes the correct salutation. We also recognise the married form (“Rossi in Bianchi”), often registered as male. Dictionaries are Italian.
